User Guide to O'Reilly for Higher Education: Searching

Getting Started

1. Go to https://ite-sg.libguides.com/databases

2. Click on O'Reilly for Higher Education.

3. Login with your email address and password.

 

What you can access?

O'Reilly for Higher Education contains contents in a variety of formats:

  • Books, videos, and audiobooks: More than 48,200+ ebooks, 30,000+ hours of video, and over 2,300 audiobooks from O’Reilly and nearly 200 publishing partners.
  • On demand courses: Curated, self-paced learning for in-demand roles and topics in business and tech.
  • Instant Answers: 'Ask O’Reilly Answers', which uses Natural Language Processing engine, can field tech questions from users so that they get instant answers from books and videos.

Searching

1. Perform a search on the search box at the top of the screen. In this example, upon typing "GIS", a list of titles appeared in a drop-down menu. Select the title that you are interested in:

2. Click on the "start" button to begin reading the book:

3. You will then be able to browse the book!

4. If you wish to "bookmark" a particular chapter, you can add to "Playlist":

5. Name your playlist:


6. To access your playlist in the future, go to your Profile at the top right, and click on "Playlist":

7. You will be able to access the chapter you have "bookmarked" straight away!
